Garrion Bridge

Job: Garrion Bridge

Type: Land Development

Location: Clyde Valley, Glasgow

Summary: As part of a consultancy team working with a new client to consider various design / development options for this site.

The site was a redundant and extremely large market garden site in an area with considerable natural appeal.

The concluding proposal to maintain the predominant appearance of the site as a natural landscape visible from many locations in the surrounding area.

The development to include the creation of a new hotel “buried” in the landscape and including a range of landscaped rooftops. Access to the building by incorporation of the existing listed building on the site.

Also a small area for bespoke specialist retail facilities.

Beyond that there would be a broad range of high value private houses of an architectural style which takes added benefit from the fact the buildings are built onto the steep hillside.

In addition there would be a series of holiday / short stay “log cabins” in the flat ground next to the river.

In addition works were also proposed to improve adjacent junction in the main road.
